Bender and Draude contacted us for "permission" to attend
our reunion {VAL-4 reunion},
it became apparent that no one had a clue about who they were, the battle, etc. I interviewed them, found a couple of the guys who took part
in the fight, did some research in archive documents and wrote it up for our association records. Fun project."
